In the Shallows (Laguna, Brazil)

This series was completed in the seaside city of Laguna, Brazil. The vibrant blues and bright color patterns were inspired by the fishing community houses and active ocean inlet. Using dried eucalyptus for stretcher bars and local acrylic sealant as my canvas gesso, my oil paints found a new way to capture the light and airy quality of the city in summer time.
